"RENEGADES OF THE END TIMES"

Hello! It has been a while and much has happened! But we are now here at month number three of 2017 together, in this DARK FUTURE!

Not only that, I have for you the first NEW Space Shark of twenty and seventeen! Episode SIXTY-TWO! I hope it breaks your heart!! Don't forget to order yourself a copy of the SPACE SHARK BOOK!

This is the first 'post-book' episode but I think that might be it for this 'phase' in the Evil Space Shark saga. Dude just refuses to change, so it looks like he'll have to take his attitude elsewhere!! I don't know! I don't 'plan' or 'map out' these things, whatever I feel or am goring through at the time gets turned into a comic...about a angry, violent talking shark...IN SPACE!

MUSICS: Anyway! Rocking and/or Roll-ing (also wrestling!) is what keeps me going and that translates into these occasional comics that I do. Here are some select HORRORDEATHROCK tracks I enjoy that you should enjoy, too!

Also here's a sketch

NEXT TIME: Space Shark WILL return! Don't hold your breath though! Also: Wrestling will be discussed. But only MY favorite wrestling stuff! Until then; support Ultramantis!

"ROAD TO MISERY"

Hello again! It took most of January to remember I had the 'ol web log here but I did it. It also took most of January to bring back the legend himself: SPACE SHARK, episode 54? Are we on fifty-four now? I dunno? Maybe! It picks up on [best left] unfinished business from episode #27, way back in the year 2011! It was fun to dig up that almost fight and expand it into a stab fest. It was also fun to channel my drawing style from four years ago. Which is not that different from my present day style, I suppose!

I tried to write the lyrics in the episode in the style of a CANCER BATS song; fast paced and high energy that never let's up \m/

And here are some behind-the-scenes/progress pics:

I've kinda pretty much been doing these comics for free and for fun all these years and don't profit from them AT ALL so pretty please don't sue me, MARVEL. Or DC, whatever!

Here is a creepy hunk I drew this morning. Sketching these dudes keeps me sharp.

LASTLY: Oh hey, I finally got to see my favoritest band CALABRESE a couple of weeks ago. I followed them up and down this godforsaken state to catch three of their shows. They work pretty damn hard. Good times were had and I miss them already! Davey got a kick out of the Halloween Space Shark episode. We're pals now :P

MUSIC? Okay, sure! Here's more Cancer Bats. NEW Cancer Bats to be exact!

NEXT TIME: I dunno, we'll see! Leave me alone! ^____^

"SEPARATION ANXIETY"

Same shit, different year, AM I RIGHT?! We have fun here. Anyway, I am the last person on this toilet of a planet to show you how a painting gets made (hint: it involves paint!) but I will do it anyway. For the children!

The subject: Ireland's own FINN BALOR! Formally known as PRINCE DEVITT in the white hot New-Japan Pro-Wrestling company and currently making a reeeeeeal impression on the NXT wraslin' show (NXT being the brand within WWE where they keep all the really good wrestling hidden from you! WHAM!)
Before leaving for the promised land of The Fed he was a founding member of the popular BULLET CLUB during his time in New-Japan. And if you ask me the BC hasn't been cool since he left. They sell a lot of t-shirts so they got me there (Also an effective form of birth control! Order now!).

Moving on! I wanted to paint a two-in-one kind of thing so I picked a couple of photos and pencil them into position.

Next I just kind of stare at the original photos as I use some really old water color palettes to replicate all the textures as faithfully as I can. Also listening to his entrance theme repeatedly helps the overall mood!

Just like your everyday life and the world in general; you have zero control over anything! Which is why I don't stress over capturing Alex Ross levels of detail. I do what I do, then tag the brush in and let it do what it wants until it is time to tag back in and hit my finisher: Sprinkle-y bullshit!

And there you have it! As an added bonus the actual wrestler will fave it! Awesome. Buy his shirt!

Enjoy this clip of Finn Balor in his war paint in action!

NEXT TIME: The triumphant return of SPACE SHARK?!?! Possibly more wrestling! Music, maybe? AND; somebody will most assuredly DIE (but don't hold your breath!)

"NIGHT STRENGTH"

I am the last person to be showing you the process of creating comics but here we go anyway. A behind the scenes look at how the latest SPACE SHARK #53 got made.

Materials you will need: Paper, hatred, and Sharpie markers for filling in those black areas. And off you go!

Several Sundays off and one, final all-fucking-nighter the night of October 31st and you got yourself a NEW, totally evil Space Shark comics episode. I had to guest star the Calabrese Bros because come on; it was October. Also the energy from their music saves my life every damn day.

M U S I C: A new CALABRESE song just happened to drop the same night as Space Shark 53. Talk about timing. I'm pretty pumped about it to say the least.

QUEEN KWONG: Brainchild of Queen Kwong, duh. Very badass rock band led by a possessed cat lady from L.A.. I have seen this band live and they are pretty metal. I'm using "metal" to describe the 'degree of intensity' the band projects live. Also she makes cool cat t-shirts.

NEXT TIME: More bands? Art, maybe (no)? Wrestling! And someone will almost-certainly-for-sure-but-maybe-not-but-probably-yeah will DIE.

"BAM! POW!"

*I hate comics. HEAR ME OUT... Haha, I'm not going to explain myself.

Anyway, tonight I tell you about BRUISE by Sarah Horrocks. Bruise is gonna win the Eisner for "Most Crazy Balls." But seriously this is what's really happening in comics creating circles (whatever the f*ck that means!)
Pictured w/ a Batmans for scale
Spoilers: It begins with a blowjob and magically morphs into a super intense car chase. For only five filthy Amerikan dollars (plus shipping!) you will receive a one of a kind, original comics book. You will also receive nightmares and may be tempted to call the police. All police are busy stepping all over people's lives and rights at the moment but just you wait. I'm next, you're next, we're all next. It's like Oprah but the audience gets pepper sprayed! If that doesn't sell you on this fresh work then you are probably rolling a DC comic around your junk and making what you believe to be "love" to it. You fucking disgust me. DIE!

Music? MUSIC:
This is Last Remaining Pinnacle. Gloomy, miserable noise rock from Virginia of all places! Enjoy and leave me alone :)

NEXT TIME: More comics worth your time! Another cool band I like! SOMEONE FINALLY DIES!

*I also hate video games. Get some fresh air and say hi to girls!

"DISTORT PROWRES"

The professional wrestling. It is a ridiculous world full of wonder, tables, chairs, steel cage matches. Basically lots of mindless violence (Hi, America!). It is also powered by pure belief. Magick also runs on that there belief fuel. Lately I have been thinking a lot about pro-wrestling as magick and how that can be harnessed for use in everyday life. There will be no hand holding here. I'm that asshole expecting you to know a wrasslin' term or two for this so STRAP IN!

If you can create a gimmick persona for yourself and commit to it to the point the public believes you to be that persona that you are projecting then you will become larger than life. Not The Rock levels of larger than life [are you kidding me, get fucking real]. But more of a "personal goal" level of unlocked potential and confidence (did wonders for me?). Anyway, that's all I wanted to get out of my system about that. FOR NOW.

Anyway, MUSIC: Let me talk to you about UltraMantis Black. Not only is he a real-life super-villain, millitant vegan and friend to animals but he is also a very angry lead singer! His message is clear: Animal liberation, Earth liberation, Human liberation AND; fun as your beloved, albeit self-absorbed social media culture may be it deserves to be flushed down the fucking toilet! But most importantly: follow your dreams and stuff?

NEXT TIME: Art, maybe! More music that I like! Also: SOMEONE WILL DEFINITELY DIE.
